Participant Mentor – Toowoomba QLD
We are seeking positive, hands-on male mentors to form a safe, peer aligned care team and who can hold firm boundaries in assisting to support a young man who enjoys music, cars, shopping and participating in community and cultural activities. To be successful in this role, you are willing to try new activities that are culturally based, and you are able to work with a young man that has a great sense of humour as he is supported in overcoming big hurdles to live a goal focused quality of life in the community.

About Us:

About You:
The ideal candidate has experience in disability support in a similar role within the community, or similar lived experience.
You work well in a team, and independently and are able to demonstrate resilience, strong communication and work well in a challenging environment.
You are committed to the principles of person – centred support and individual choice and control
You are keen to develop leadership skills, and you are inspired with what you do and have strong positive interpersonal skills
What We’re Looking For:

You’ll excel if you have:

- A positive attitude and strong communication skills
- The ability to work independently and within a supportive team
- A commitment to regular hours (30+ hours/week) across a 24/7 roster
- A desire to help others build resilience and improve their quality of life
You’ll need:
- Ability to demonstrate a positive, compassionate, resilient attitude
- A current Valid Driver’s Licence, with your own reliable vehicle and comprehensive insurance
- The willingness and ability to obtain your Paid Yellow card and Police check prior to commencing
