Summary:

Industry Skills Australia is seeking a Program Evaluation Lead to strengthen our evidence base and drive continuous improvement across the organisation. This critical role is responsible for establishing and embedding evaluation frameworks that assess program effectiveness and monitor progress against strategic outcomes.

As an internal advisor reporting to the General Manager – Engagement, you will lead the design of ISA’s performance monitoring environment. You will work collaboratively across teams to ensure that evaluation thinking is integrated into planning, delivery, and decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

Demonstrated experience in program evaluation, performance measurement, or impact assessment. Proven track record in developing and implementing evaluation frameworks and indicators. Highly developed written communication skills, with the ability to produce complex evidence summaries and reports for diverse audiences. Expertise in using qualitative and mixed-method approaches to assess program outcomes. Strong interpersonal and consultation skills to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with reporting or qualitative analysis tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, or Bachelor of Public Policy / Government; or a related field;
  • a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in programme evaluation or a related area within the education sector.
  • An understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector or industry-level workforce planning (Not essential).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis software and data visualisation tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Note: This is fixed term role ending 30 June 2028. The role can be located in either our Canberra or Melbourne on a hybrid-basis with 3-days in the office.
