How you will make a difference
As a Wellbeing Centre Officer, your main focus will be on responding to the primary needs of our clients when they enter the Wellbeing Centre whether it be setting up the tea & coffee station, clearing away cups, cleaning tables, managing the takeaway food table or entering / collating accurate data
entry.
We work as a team to support individuals with information on Wellbeing Centre based facilities, the Hutt St Centre services / programs and other appropriate services for their needs and you will work closely with other staff, volunteers and visiting services who are working within the Wellbeing Centre.
Our Wellbeing Centre operating hours are Monday to Friday from 7.00 am to 1.00 pm and Saturday and Public Holidays from 6.30 am to 9.30 am. We are offering both permanent part-time shifts which will be 3 – 4 shifts per week working Monday to Saturday and casual shifts.
About you
You will have demonstrated experience working in a similar environment, with clients who have complex needs and may, at times, exhibit challenging behaviours.
You will need excellent communication skills in this role as you will be interacting with, and building rapport with people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and you will have resilience and
experience in deescalating situations as they arise.
This is a role that will require you to be proactive in your approach, think on the run, and gauge the environment you are working in to foresee issues that may arise. It is important that you have a good
understanding of confidentiality principles along with efficient data entry skills. Previous experience in the homelessness sector is preferred but not essential.
You must have, or be willing to obtain both a satisfactory National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
