Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and reliable professional to join the accounts team at a prestigious Not for Profit organisation based in South West of Sydney – NSW.

Role and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for several accounting and administrative duties, while working closely with the Financial Manager. Your responsibilities will cover a broad range of activities including but not limited to:

• Ensure that sound processes and procedures are in place to ensure financial transactions are recorded in an accurate, timely and complete manner

• Ensure that accurate and timely financial accounts are maintained in accordance with established Australian Accounting Standards

• Ensure compliance with all statutory financial obligations and relevant financial legislation

• Manage the day-to-day activities of the financial accounting functions

• Ensure that the periodic payroll for all employees is processed in an accurate and timely manner

• Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for all group entities

• Assist in the management and administration of key accounting and operational software

• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations, including fluctuation analysis if needed

• Perform other financial accounting duties as part of the Finance team when required. Duties include but are not limited to ATO and state submission requirements, intercompany balancing, data migration, and system implementation.

• Inventory item set-up & liaising with purchasing team

• Preparation of monthly financial accounts in a timely manner.

• Contract review.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Australian citizen or permanent resident.

• Minimum qualifications with a Bachelor in accounting/finance.

• Fluent in English and/or Arabic (written and spoken) is highly desirable.

• A high level of competence in the full range of Microsoft Office.

• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

• Record-keeping skills to meet state and federal tax and non-profit regulations.

• Communication skills with staff management, vendors, community donors and others.

• The ability to work in a high-pressure working environment.
