The Housing Hub was created in 2017 with a goal to support people with disability to find suitable and quality housing, and to support the efficient operation of the disability housing market. The Housing Hub was created as an initiative of the Summer Foundation and now operates under a social enterprise model.
Thousands of properties across Australia are currently listed on the Housing Hub website, making it easier for housing seekers to find the right home. We’ve created an online community where housing seekers and housing providers work together to develop a market where people with disability enjoy choice and control over where they live and who they live with.
As our newly appointed Digital Product Lead, you will head the design, build, and launch of an innovative digital pilot product This project is a key digital extension of the existing Housing Hub platform, aimed at delivering a Minimum Viable Product consisting of three core modules.
Reporting to the Development Manager within our Growth and Innovation division, you will be the primary “Project Manager” for the pilot. You’ll lead an outsourced engineering and design team to bring this vision to life, ensuring the product adds genuine value to the disability housing market.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Lifecycle: Lead the pilot through planning, design, build, launch, and monitoring.
Co-Design & UX: Facilitate workshops with users (seekers and providers) to develop features and oversee interactive UI designs.
Technical Delivery: Manage the day-to-day operations of outsourced software engineers and designers using agile methodologies.
Governance & Strategy: Maintain project plans, risk registers, and compliance while managing the pilot budget and reporting KPIs to the Executive Leadership Team.
Go-to-Market: Collaborate on launch strategies and conduct internal training to ensure the organisation is ready for the pilot’s debut.
Skills & Experience
Proven Leadership: Extensive experience leading the design, build, and monitoring phases of digital pilot projects.
Technical Translation: Ability to turn complex business requirements into technical tasks (Jira cards) for engineering teams.
Team Management: Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, including outsourced developers and UX/UI designers.
Risk & Compliance: Skilled in managing risk registers, privacy policies, and system security.
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
Sector Knowledge: While not mandatory, knowledge of the disability sector is highly regarded.
