We are seeking an experienced State Transport Manager to lead contractor performance across Queensland and ensure our network delivers safe, compliant, and high-performing services. The Opportunity
Reporting to the National Transport Manager, the State Transport Manager will oversee the performance, compliance, and commercial management of contractors operating within the state.
You will play a critical role in strengthening contractor accountability, monitoring operational performance, and driving continuous improvement across the transport network.
This role will focus on delivering strong outcomes across Cost, Quality, Safety, and Contractor Compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee contractor performance across Queensland, ensuring delivery against operational KPIs including service levels, cost, safety, and quality.
- Monitor and analyse transport data to identify performance trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage contractor relationships, performance reviews, and corrective actions where required.
- Ensure contractors meet all compliance requirements, including contractual obligations, licensing, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) regulations.
- Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and network performance.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse, routing, and planning teams to optimise delivery outcomes and resolve service issues.
- Support contractor onboarding, incident investigations, and operational improvement initiatives.

You are an experienced transport or logistics professional who understands how to balance operational performance, contractor relationships, and compliance requirements.
You bring a proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to analyse performance data, address operational challenges, and work collaboratively with contractors and internal teams to deliver strong outcomes.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in transport, logistics, or supply chain operations
- A solid understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and transport compliance obligations
- Experience managing transport KPIs, contractor performance, or service delivery frameworks
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A practical, hands-on approach to improving operational performance
