About the Role
This multi-site position calls for a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager to lead and strengthen workplace safety across our facilities in Maine and Vermont, with the ability to travel regularly between locations. The role is responsible for identifying risks, enhancing safety protocols, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards. You will play a key role in fostering a proactive safety culture while partnering with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, committed to protecting employees and improving operational safety outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and drive efficiency
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, identifying hazards and implementing mitigation strategies
- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records of safety activities, including training, inspections, and incident reporting
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and leadership teams to align safety practices with operational and product integrity goals
About You
You are an experienced safety professional with a strong track record in high-risk or regulated environments, ideally within food processing. You bring a proactive mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for continuous improvement. Your leadership and communication skills enable you to influence and engage teams at all levels. You are confident navigating regulatory frameworks and committed to maintaining a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace.
You Will Bring
- Demonstrated experience in a safety management role within a regulated or manufacturing environment, ideally food processing
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, with hands-on compliance experience
- Proven ability to integrate safety systems with quality assurance processes
- Professional certifications such as CSP, HACCP, or OSHA training (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field

Location & Work Arrangement
- This position is based on-site in Shelburne, Vermont (05482). or New Gloucester, Maine 04260
- Candidates must be able to commute daily to the Shelburne, Vermont office or New Gloucester, Maine depending on location.
