The Opportunity

HeliMods is seeking an experienced Certification Engineer with 6+ years of relevant industry experience to join our high-performing team. This role goes beyond compliance. You’ll be central to certifying advanced mission systems and aircraft modifications that support essential services across the globe. From civil to military platforms, our work enables operations that matter and your expertise will help make that possible.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and regulatory authorities including CASA, FAA, Transport Canada, and EASA. With over 100 STCs delivered across these bodies, HeliMods offers exposure to certification programs that are diverse, challenging, and deeply rewarding.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in any relevant engineering discipline but particularly interested in structures and mechanical systems.
  • 6+ years relevant aerospace, mechanical or mechatronics engineering industry experience.
  • Ideal candidate will have held a design approval authorisation under a CASA 21.J approved design organisation or similar (e.g. DASA DOA or EASA DOA or FAA DER).
  • A strong working knowledge of all legislation and regulations, in particular FAR/CS Parts 23, 25, 27 and 29.
  • Good working knowledge of CASR Part 21 strongly desirable.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software (Siemens NX preferred).
  • Experience in Product Lifecycle Management software (Siemens Teamcenter preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting comprehensive reviews of aircraft designs, systems and components to assess compliance.
  • The energy, intelligence and initiative to proactively overcome industries’ toughest challenges.
  • Experience collaborating with design engineers and other stakeholders to address non-compliance issues and develop effective solutions.
  • A structured approach to working with an ability to deliver despite ambiguity that allows you to thrive in a highly autonomous environment

Inherent Requirements

  • Must meet minimum criteria as set out in CASA Part 21 MOS to be able to be authorised to carry out design activities.
