Looking to join a growing startup on a mission to change drinking culture? We’re hiring a Senior Creative Producer.
About Heaps Normal
Heaps Normal is an independent, non-alcoholic Aussie drinks company on a mission to eliminate wasted moments. We’re not here to tell anyone how to live. We just think it’s better when you don’t write yourself off. The way we see it, getting wasted isn’t just about booze. It’s lost time. Missed moments. Blacked out memories. Cut corners. Untapped potential. Lives dulled down by what’s expected and what’s normal. The world’s got enough of that.
So we make drinks for people who want to turn up and turn on and not leave the best things un-lived. This isn’t about being better than or better for. It’s about making space for something better. For living, on purpose. It’s seeing and living and drinking the things in life that are too good to be wasted.
Our values
Shout the first round: Give first and be a good human. We don’t wait to be asked. We go out of our way to do what’s right for our team, our community and our environment.
Return the empties: We never walk past a problem. Whether it’s a spot fire or a raging inferno, we run towards the fire.
Build each other up: We look after ourselves and look out for our mates. This means investing in people, always putting family first and elevating those we interact with.
Question normal: Walk a mile in their shoes and try to see things from an alternative point of view. Your normal may not be my normal, and normal today may not be normal tomorrow.
About the role
Employment Type: Permanent full time
Location: Sydney
Department: Brand & Creative
Manager: Chief Brand Officer
We’re looking for a senior, highly organised operator to join us as a Senior Creative Producer. This role is the delivery spine of the Heaps Normal Brand & Creative team, responsible for creative project management end-to-end across key moments, campaigns, launches, toolkits and brand programs, including our new brand home and venue, Heaps Normal Health Club.
This role is equal parts producer, brief-writer/strategist, and team leader. You’ll translate commercial and operational objectives (launches, partnerships, trade priorities, community growth, venue/program needs) into sharp creative problems with a clear point of view, then lead the team to deliver work that balances commercial outcomes with boundary-pushing creativity.
You’ll lead the day-to-day rhythm of the creative team (Art Director, Designer, Brand Programs Manager and external partners), translating strategy into plans and plans into delivered work.
The outcomes this role is accountable for:
- Work that consistently increases Brand Preference through quality, distinctiveness and cultural relevance.
- Stronger creative/content engagement because moments are well-briefed and well-made.
- Reliable delivery that enables reach and real-world proof moments.
- Higher team throughput with fewer missed deadlines, fewer revisions and less thrash
The responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
🎧Briefing and creative strategy translation
- Translate business needs into clear creative project, creative and tactical briefs.
- Lead the Creative team to develop curatorial and creative strategies, campaigns and programs (including programming for Heaps Normal Health Club, our Events program, our Merch program and Heaps Normal Records), and project manage them to completion.
- Balance commercial objectives (distribution, trade, partnerships, launches) with creative boundary pushing making sure work is both effective and distinctly Heaps Normal.
- Create alignment early with key stakeholders (Sales, Ops, Partnerships, the Heaps Normal Exec) so projects don’t collapse mid-flight.
🎬 Creative project management (end-to-end ownership)
- Own end-to-end creative project management across major creative projects (campaigns, key moments, launches etc).
- Build and run project plans (briefs, budgets, milestones, dependencies, approvals, production timelines).
- Manage external partners (freelancers, suppliers, studios, printers) and ensure quality/delivery standards.
- Keep quality high and rework low through tight briefs, clear feedback loops and sharp scopes.
🧭 Delivery leadership (lead the team rhythm)
- Lead weekly delivery rhythms across Brand & Creative (WIPs, traffic, sequencing, prioritisation).
- Translate strategy into clear scopes, owners, timelines and milestones and hold delivery to them.
- Run escalation and decision-making pathways so work doesn’t stall.
- Build a high-performing delivery culture: clarity, momentum, accountability and calm.
🗓️ Integrated planning + calendar ownership
- Own the Brand & Creative delivery calendar (what ships when, and what needs to happen to get there).
- Ensure key moments have complete inputs early: creative direction, content needs, trade needs, comms needs, program needs.
- Create repeatable templates and playbooks that increase output and consistency (briefing templates, delivery checklists, launch playbooks).
🤝 Cross-functional delivery partner
- Partner closely with the CBO and Art Director to protect quality and brand standards.
- Work with Brand channel owners (social media, events, venue etc) to align creative with distribution plans (paid, trade, partners).
- Lead the Brand Programs team to make brand activations content-ready and operationally tight.
About you
- You’re a producer who loves shipping work and you’re equally strong at turning messy inputs into crisp briefs.
- You can write a brief that creatives actually want to work from (clear, sharp, inspiring, not bureaucracy).
- You’re comfortable balancing commercial constraints with creative ambition, and you know how to protect the “sharp edge” without blowing budgets or timelines.
- You’ve led delivery across creative teams and know how to create accountability without killing morale.
- You have strong stakeholder management instincts and can keep cross-functional teams aligned.
Why you should join Heaps Normal
- We give every team member an extra week of paid “Life Leave” – because rest and play are essential ingredients in a high-performing team.
- Professional development budget to help you continuously level-up and succeed in your career
- Access to mental and physical wellbeing support with quarterly credit to spend at a huge range of conventional and alternative health providers nationally.
- Generous paid parental leave (for both primary & secondary carers) designed to help families of all types prioritise what matters most and return to work on your own terms.
- Paid volunteer leave + matched giving that extends our company purpose to contribute to the stuff that matters to you personally.
- You’ll get unlimited Heaps Normal beer. But more importantly, you’ll help shape a movement that’s making drinking culture more fun for everyone.
