Data Analyst

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our team, working across our high-volume, short-tail insurance products such as Motor and Accident & Health. This role is ideal for someone with a sharp eye for detail, who enjoys problem-solving and is comfortable working with large volumes of data. You will play a key role in improving data quality, increasing efficiencies and communicating effectively between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This is a critical role in turning complex information into clear, actionable insights to claims, underwriting, actuarial and management. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to enhance passion for data and analytics by obtaining visibility across the entire business. It demands and rewards individuals that are highly proactive with a solutions-focused mindset and strong communication skills.

Key Duties:

> Cleanse, collect and combine all claims data received from Motor TPA’s. Data Sources include:

  • Monthly Bordereaux.
  • Transaction Reports.
  • Client Claim Reports.
  • Aggregate / Under Aggregate Reports.
  • Recovery Reports.

> Cleanse, collect and combine all underwriting and pricing data inputted into the Fleet Rating models (FRM’s) including reconciliation with CRM and GERAS.

> Support claims and actuarial by developing dashboards and regular reports to outline key underwriting and claims KPI’s including:

  • Average Claim Costs by vehicle type, claim type and underwriting period.
  • Trends in Repairer vs Non-Repairer usage.
  • Recovery Rates.
  • Claim Lifecycles and notification delays.
  • Monitoring initial reserve movements against actuarial guidelines and vehicle types.
  • Error rates and data quality reports on TPA claims data and FRM data.

> Responsible for performing regular reconciliation between incoming TPA claims data and internal policy and claims systems.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with data and/or related role within the financial services industry.
  • Bachelors Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field.
  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel/VBA.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R and/or SQL.
  • Proficiency in data visualisation platforms such as Power BI.
  • General Insurance Industry experience desired.
