The Role
We are looking for Estimating professionals who will support our continued growth.
As part of the estimating team, you will be working out of our Argyle Street or Sutherland office and report through to our Chief Risk and Pre-Contracts Officer. You will be responsible for successfully managing a variety of tenders.
As part of a close multi-skilled pre-contracts team you will be learning and sharing your knowledge with a great operations team whilst producing some exciting estimates for our clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Compile scope of works, BoQs and RFQ packs for Subcontractor and Supplier pricing.
- Maintain effective and productive relationships with Clients, Subcontractors and Suppliers.
- Conduct Subcontractor and Supplier RFQ comparisons and selections.
- Review, understand and analyse all tender documentation.
- Attend tender meetings and briefings noting competitor landscape and potential win strategies.
- Produce tender programs with milestones and dependencies.
- Produce pricing schedules and schedule of rates.
- Present detailed estimate to management for tender reviews.
- Keep abreast of market trends, competitors and past and future opportunities.
- Produce tender methodologies, sketches and tender content.
- Develop competitive and safe delivery solutions and options.
- Provide detailed handover to Operations
About you
You are an accomplished Estimating professional with a love of numbers and a passion for estimating. You will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in rail, stations, roads, treatment plants, substations, industrial buildings, civic infrastructure, or combinations of the above.
- Skilled in Expert Estimation (or CATS or Candy) and Microsoft Project.
- Able to price construct only and design and construct estimates.
- Able to produce comprehensive scopes of work and effectively vet subcontractor and supplier prices.
- Familiar with construction norms and estimating benchmarks.
- Maintain good downstream supply chain relationships.
- Team player who is able to clearly communicate all aspects of your estimate to all stakeholders.
- Provide confidence to operations and senior management in the robustness and competitiveness of estimates.
