Black Truck & Ag is a proudly family-owned, multi-branch business operating across Queensland and New South Wales, specialising in heavy vehicle and agricultural servicing. Due to continued growth, our Roma branch is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller / Foreman to lead day-to-day workshop operations and support a high-performing service team.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys running an efficient workshop, supporting technicians, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workshop operations and workflow planning

• Allocate work and manage job priorities to meet timeframes

• Lead, mentor, and support technicians and apprentices

• Monitor productivity, job progress, and quality control

• Provide technical support and assist with troubleshooting as required

• Liaise with Service Advisors, Parts, and Management to ensure smooth operations

• Maintain strong customer service standards

• Ensure WHS compliance, safety, and workshop presentation

About You

• Proven experience as a Workshop Controller, Foreman, or senior technician

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Workshop Controller, Foreman, or senior technician is required

• Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle, Automotive, or Agricultural mechanics

• Acceptable trade qualifications include Heavy Vehicle, Automotive, Agricultural mechanics, Diesel Fitting, or Plant Mechanic

• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

• Ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing demands

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Proactive, reliable, and solutions-focused
