About the role
Black Truck & Ag’ is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Roma, QLD. This full-time role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of a range of heavy vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable and in optimal working condition. As a key member of our Automotive Trades team, you will play a vital part in supporting the operations of our clients across the region.
What you’ll be doing
Conducting routine servicing and inspections of heavy vehicles to identify and resolve any mechanical issues
Diagnosing and repairing complex faults in engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems and other vehicle components
Maintaining detailed records of work undertaken and replacement parts used
Collaborating with the wider team to ensure efficient workshop operations and timely delivery of services
Adhering to all relevant safety standards and company policies
What we’re looking for
Formal qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or a related automotive trade
Extensive experience (3+ years) working as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, with a strong understanding of the latest vehicle technologies and diagnostic tools
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to quickly identify and resolve complex mechanical issues
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and colleagues
A current driver’s licence and your own reliable transportation
