We are seeking a motivated, switched-on and passionate Sales Assistant to join our Commercial Division.

The Sales Assistant provides high-quality administrative, operational and reporting support to Hardie Grant’s national sales team across ANZ markets. You’ll support key account activity, coordinate materials and orders, manage reporting processes, and liaise with customers and distributors to ensure smooth commercial operations and exceptional service.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, detail-focused, and motivated to contribute to a fast-paced publishing environment.
Key responsibilities
Sales support & customer coordination
• Support the national sales team in servicing key trade customers and field accounts
• Prepare sales submissions, presentations, stock lists, order forms, and promotional materials
• Coordinate samples and assist with customer meetings and presentations
• Manage shared sales inbox and respond to trade enquiries
• Maintain strong customer relationships regarding orders, invoicing, and account queries
Order management & distributor liaison
• Liaise with warehouse and distributor to resolve order and delivery issues
• Process special sales, stock transfers, clearance and remainder deals
• Monitor sales trackers and raise invoices via distributor systems
• Maintain gratis and promotional order tracking
Reporting & sales administration
• Prepare scheduled sales reports and support data tracking processes
• Maintain accurate sales records, title grids, and reporting tools
• Support efficient sales team operations through high-quality administrative support
Trade events & collaboration
• Assist with coordination of trade events, conferences, and customer initiatives
• Work cross-functionally with publishing, marketing, and distribution teams
• Support effective communication across internal stakeholders.
About you
You are an excellent communicator with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders. Your proficiency in various software applications, including the Microsoft Suite, allows you to navigate tasks with ease and efficiency.
With exceptional attention to detail and a talent for multitasking, you thrive in dynamic environments and take pride in delivering high-quality work. Your proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving ensures that challenges are met with innovative solutions.
While experience in a sales or client-facing administrative role is a bonus, your positive attitude, relationship skills and growth mindset are what truly set you apart. You’re a quick learner who is eager to innovate, contribute new ideas, and continuously improve.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to join our energetic and innovative team, based in either our Sydney (Ultimo) or Melbourne (Collingwood) office. The salary range for this position is between $58,000 – $62,000 per annum plus superannuation.
