What is the Role?

Seeking experienced Senior Registered Nurses to join our team across night shifts only & at both sites (Burradoo & Moss Vale) – part-time.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following (but not limited to):

  • Deliver direct and comprehensive nursing care and individual case management to residents within the care environment.
  • Coordinate services, including those of other disciplines or agencies, for individual residents to maximise care outcomes.
  • Implement individualised care plans that are accurate and developed in accordance with the individual needs of the resident, and ensure plans are updated when the needs of the individual change.
  • Identify, document, and manage clinical risks.
  • Ensure all care delivery and corresponding documentation requirements are completed in accordance with the quality standards, legislative and funding requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and understanding of NAC funding.
  • Collaborate with individual residents, care partners and care providers to develop plans, programs, and initiatives to maximise care outcomes.
  • Provide education, counselling and group work services orientated towards the promotion of health status and quality of life improvements of residents.
  • Provide direct and routine supervision, support, and education to the care team and less experienced staff, including Enrolled Nurses, personal care workers and students.
  • Accept accountability for own standards of nursing care and service delivery.
  • Participate in action research and policy development within care setting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities to support quality care outcomes.
  • Promote Harbison in a positive manner both internally and externally.
  • Other relevant duties assigned within scope of role as a Registered Nurse such as medication management, case conferencing, wound management etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Nursing and current registration with AHPRA.
  • Understanding of scope of practice in line with relevant registration.
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Minimum 3 year’s experience working night shifts in an aged care facility
  • Ability to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of residents.
  • Capable of functioning autonomously, and prioritising work and the work of others within established policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Display a high level of problem-solving skills and techniques with subsequent evaluation of outcomes.
  • Demonstrate and role model behaviours that align with Harbison’s Code of Conduct, Values and pillars of customer service.
  • Proven ability to lead and direct a care services team.
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of the industry’s practices and relevant statutory requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills and customer centric approach.
