THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity is available for a Production Supervisor within the Timber department to join the Hallett Group team. Reporting to the Operations Manager – Timber & Truss, you will oversee daily operational activities for the warehouse & transport scopes, ensure efficient processes, and maintain a safe and organised work environment. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a keen eye for detail and passion for process improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
- Strong commitment to safety, health & environmental responsibility
- Supervise daily operations of the timber team, including Orderman’s, Forklift Operator’s, Stock Controller’s, Transport Coordinators, and Driver Team.
- Plan and allocate workloads based on daily dispatch requirements and available resources
- Ensure all timber and hardware orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and on time.
- Liaise with the Operations Manager on production planning, staffing, and process improvements
- Support Transport coordinators with delivery schedules and allocating of workloads.
QUALIFICATIONS | EXPERIENCE | CAPABILITIES
- Valid High Risk Forklift license (essential)
- Cert IV in leadership or management, or relevant tertiary qualification (preferred)
- Proven experience in a timber yard or warehouse operations, with leadership responsibilities
- Strong people management and team coordination skills.
- Solid understanding of timber products, warehouse processes, and safety standards
- Strong knowledge of chain of responsibility legislation and NHVR requirements.
- Proven ability to adapt and problem solver
- A continuous learner with good communicator
- Valid Driver’s license (preferred)
