About the role:
Hachette Australia is seeking a full-time Account Manager to service the Victorian market.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate Salesperson with at least 2
years’ experience in the book industry.
Some of the key responsibilities for this role include:
- Monthly sell-ins with Account
- Liaising with Head of Field Sales on sales strategy
- Analysing current marketplace and feeding back important market and competitive information
- Responding to customer enquiries and terms requests
- Coordinating and stock management for Author Events
- Arranging opening Store Orders
- Writers Festivals support
- Author Care
- Some Merchandising
About you:
The Account Manager will report directly to the Head of Field Sales.
You are passionate about books and bring that enthusiasm into every aspect of your role as a
Account Manager. You are a strong and effective communicator, able to build and maintain positive working relationships with Booksellers and the Hachette sales team.
You demonstrate strong account management skills and sound commercial acumen, with a clear
focus on delivering profitable outcomes. You take ownership of your accounts through regular monthly sell-ins, proactively responding to customer enquiries, events and terms requests.
You work closely with the Head of Field Sales to contribute to and execute sales strategies, while continuously analyzing the marketplace to provide valuable insights into trends, competitors, and opportunities. You are confident coordinating stock and logistics for author events, supporting writers’ festivals, and always ensuring exceptional author care.
An innovative and solution-oriented thinker, you are curious about the best way forward and confident in making strategic decisions. You bring strong organisational, planning, and negotiating skills to your role, alongside a hands-on approach to merchandising where required.
