General Surgeon – Remote

Summary:

The General Surgeon is responsible for performing surgical procedures to diagnose, treat, and manage various medical conditions. They work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality and compassionate medical care to patients.

Responsibilities:

• Operate on patients to treat injuries, diseases, and abnormalities of the digestive system, breast, skin, and other soft tissues.
• Diagnose and treat congenital and acquired conditions such as hernia, gallbladder disease, appendicitis, and tumors.
• Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up care to monitor patients’ conditions and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Interpret diagnostic test results and develop an appropriate surgical plan tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care, including anesthesiologists, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and other support staff.
• Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, reduce medical errors, and improve clinical outcomes.
• Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice, and maintain accurate and complete patient records.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay updated on the latest surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a residency in general surgery.
• Board certification by the American Board of Surgery or a similar governing body.
• State medical license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
