Summary:

The General Surgeon is responsible for performing surgical procedures to diagnose, treat, and manage various medical conditions. They work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality and compassionate medical care to patients.

Responsibilities:

Operate on patients to treat injuries, diseases, and abnormalities of the digestive system, breast, skin, and other soft tissues.
Diagnose and treat congenital and acquired conditions such as hernia, gallbladder disease, appendicitis, and tumors.
Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up care to monitor patients' conditions and ensure optimal outcomes.
Interpret diagnostic test results and develop an appropriate surgical plan tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care, including anesthesiologists, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and other support staff.
Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, reduce medical errors, and improve clinical outcomes.
Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice, and maintain accurate and complete patient records.

Qualifications:

Medical degree from an accredited institution.
Completion of a residency in general surgery.
