Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Housekeeper to join our dedicated team at Kerrisdale Gardens. This role involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the facility to ensure a safe, comfortable, and pleasant environment for our residents.
This is a rotating role, with duties shared between both cleaning and laundry services. There is no set allocation to one area, and flexibility to work across both functions is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
General Cleaning: Perform routine cleaning tasks in residents’ rooms, common areas, hallways, dining rooms, and bathrooms.
Laundry Services: Collect, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linen and residents’ personal laundry.
Cleaning of Equipment and Fixtures: Ensure all equipment, furniture, and fixtures are cleaned and sanitised regularly.
Waste Management: Dispose of waste in accordance with environmental and safety standards.
Maintain Infection Control Standards: Follow all relevant procedures to ensure a hygienic environment.
Assistance with Other Tasks: Support additional housekeeping duties as required by supervisors or management.
Resident Interaction: Respect residents’ privacy and dignity while maintaining a friendly, caring, and professional approach.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in housekeeping, ideally in an aged care or healthcare setting (but not essential).
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A caring and compassionate attitude towards elderly residents.
- Knowledge of infection control practices is highly desirable.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Requirements:
- Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Current Influenza vaccination (or willingness to receive).
- Minimum of 2 x Covid vaccinations
- A positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
