Community Home Carer

Summary:

Good Shepherd @ Home in Mackay, Queensland are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Community Home Carers. In this role, you will provide in-home care services to individuals in need, supporting them with daily living activities, personal care, and household tasks. You will work directly with clients to improve their quality of life, ensuring that they remain comfortable and safe in their homes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care (assistance with showering, dressing, grooming)
• Help with mobility and transfer assistance
• Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry
• Encourage social interaction and community engagement
• Support clients with medication reminders
• Monitor clients’ wellbeing and report any concerns to supervisors or family members
• Adhere to care plans and report progress

Essential Criteria:

• Previous experience in home care, aged care, or a similar role
• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent (desirable)
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate
• Current Police Check
• Valid Driver’s License (essential)
• Reliable vehicle as well as comprehensive insurance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A current flu vaccination (mandatory) and a minimum of 2 x covid vaccinations (preferred)
