About the role:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for assisting with the execution, maintenance and optimisation of irrigation systems, with the following responsibilities:

  • Monitor and operate irrigation systems, including sprinkler, drip, flood and fertigation systems.
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance and repair of irrigation infrastructure (pipes, valves, pumps, filters, emitters and controllers).
  • Conduct routine system checks to identify leaks, blockages, pressure issues or faults.
  • Perform filter cleaning, line flushing and system testing as required.
  • Monitor soil moisture levels and support irrigation scheduling to optimise water use efficiency.
  • Assist with pump and bore operation and basic maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate irrigation records, including water usage, maintenance logs and scheduling data.
  • Operate irrigation equipment and associated machinery in accordance with company Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support orchard activities where required during peak operational periods.
  • Maintain a clean and organised irrigation workspace and storage areas.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Orchard Manager / Irrigation Supervisor regarding system performance and operational issues.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with team members and contractors.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve irrigation knowledge and technical skills.
  • Stay informed about advancements in irrigation technology, water efficiency practices and sustainable farming methods.
  • Other duties as required.
