About the role:
We’re looking for an Agronomist to join our team. This role drives orchard performance by turning monitoring and analysis into simple, practical decisions. The role leads soil and plant nutrition, integrated pest and disease management, and provides input into irrigation scheduling to improve yield, quality, and cost efficiency.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct regular orchard monitoring, including soil, leaf, and fruit sampling.
- Develop and implement soil health, plant nutrition, and integrated pest and disease management programs with timely recommendations for action.
- Provide input into irrigation scheduling to ensure efficient water use aligned with crop needs.
- Assist orchards during harvest by implementing moisture and quality testing protocols.
- Implement appropriate electronic recording systems for survey and test results, chemical and fertiliser usage, and pest and disease monitoring.
- Analyse orchard performance data (yield, quality, inputs) and translate insights into practical actions.
- Design and oversee field trials for new products, technologies, or practices.
- Lead the Technical Team, providing clear direction, coaching, and development for Technical Officers.
- Foster a collaborative team culture that reflects the GO.FARM Way, with strong communication, accountability, and support.
- Translate technical knowledge into practical, actionable guidance for farm managers and operations teams.
- Build strong working relationships with Orchard, Irrigation, and Operations leaders to integrate agronomy advice into day-to-day decision-making.
- Represent GO.FARM in a professional manner with suppliers, consultants, and industry partners, ensuring strong and productive external relationships.
- Promote and demonstrate behaviours that extend GO.FARM culture and vision.
- Champion a positive & productive ‘best-in-class’ WHS culture.
- Any other miscellaneous duties as required
About you:
You enjoy working with people, take pride in doing things well, and want to be part of something with real purpose.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Horticulture, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years’ experience in applied agronomy or horticultural advisory roles, ideally in orchards or permanent plantings.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- ChemCert or equivalent accreditation (desirable).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire a small technical team.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining strong standards in agronomic programs and data integrity.
- Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

In addition, this role is offering
- Base salary between $120,000 – $130,000 per annum
- Short Term Incentive (STI) of up to 10% of your salary
- Housing provided
- Motor Vehicle provided for work purposes
