headspace Mount Isa, led by Gidgee Healing, is seeking a dynamic Centre Manager & Clinical Lead to guide our multidisciplinary team and drive high‑quality, youth‑friendly mental health services for young people aged 12–25.

About the Role

The Centre Manager & Clinical Lead is a key leadership position responsible for the strategic, operational and clinical governance of the centre. You will oversee day‑to‑day operations, foster a strong and supportive workplace culture, ensure clinical excellence, and build meaningful partnerships across the community.

This role is perfect for a seasoned clinician who enjoys balancing leadership, service innovation, and hands‑on clinical oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership aligned with headspace’s model and community priorities
  • Oversee centre operations, workforce management, rosters, administration and service flow
  • Lead clinical governance, supervision, triage, risk management and incident response
  • Maintain strong relationships with consortium partners, local services, schools, and private practitioners
  • Drive youth participation, cultural safety, and trauma‑informed practice
  • Ensure data quality, reporting accuracy, Medicare/billing processes and operational compliance
  • Support a high‑performing team culture through supervision, mentoring and professional development

About You – Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Registration/eligibility with AHPRA (Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse, OT) or AASW (Social Worker)
  • Ability to obtain a Medicare Provider Number
  • Advanced clinical skills, including evidence‑based interventions and risk/crisis management
  • Leadership experience supervising multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong operational management capability (budgets, contracts, reporting, Medicare processes)
  • Demonstrated cultural capability and experience working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with resilience in a regional/remote setting

Desirable

  • Experience supervising students or early‑career clinicians
  • Understanding of private practitioner models and Medicare billing
  • Experience with youth participation and co‑design approaches

Compliance Requirements

  • QLD Blue Card and National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
  • Current C‑Class Driver’s Licence
  • Willingness to travel, including to remote communities (road or small aircraft)
