GEM Energy is seeking driven, commercially minded Business Development Managers to join our commercial outbound team. This is a fast-paced role, focused on generating new business through outbound prospecting, cold calling via phone and in person and managing opportunities from initial contact to contract close.
You’ll work across solar PV and battery projects primarily for SME and mid-market businesses.

Key Responsibilities
- Source new leads through cold calling and dataset outreach (3 days per week)
- Conduct site visits and customer appointments (2 days per week)
- Qualify leads using internal processes (LOA, bills, interval data)
- Deliver Set Up Calls to uncover objections, investment criteria and timelines
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure timely proposal delivery
- Maintain full compliance and activity logging in HubSpot
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets
What Success Looks Like
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients across multiple deal stages
- Deep understanding of client investment criteria and decision-making processes
- Frequent delivery of Set Up Calls
- Clear documentation of all communications in CRM
- Strong collaboration with internal teams utilising sales processes
- Exceeding probation KPIs
About You
- Self-motivated and highly organised
- Confident with phone-based and face-to-face client interactions
- Familiar with CRM systems (HubSpot will be used daily)
- Interest in renewable energy and carbon efficiency
- Able to work under pressure and deliver in a structured environment
