As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a dedicated Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team on an icnonic $120m – 12 story multi-residential development project across two stages located in stunning Redcliffe.

The Opportunity
As our HSE Advisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering and maintaining the highest standards of health and safety compliance across this significant project. Working closely with our project teams, subcontractors, and site stakeholders, you’ll be the safety leader on site, building a culture that embraces our “Think Safe Live Well” philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive site inductions and maintain accurate registers
- Perform regular safety inspections, SWMS observations, and plant/equipment checks
- Lead incident investigations and facilitate the close-out of corrective actions
- Oversee hazard identification, maintain safety documentation, and ensure compliance with legislation
- Communicate program and milestone safety requirements to the project team
- Ensure subcontractors meet their safety obligations within scope and schedules
- Support procurement by verifying safety compliance for materials and services
- Uphold GVG’s project delivery standards across safety, cost, quality, and program
- Safety Leadership
- Attend and contribute meaningfully to pre-start, subcontractor, and toolbox meetings
- Facilitate safety education and awareness sessions for workers and subcontractors
- Maintain site signage, exclusion zones, and first aid facilities
Skills & Experience Required
- In-depth understanding of Queensland WHS legislation and Codes of Practice
- Extensive site-based HSE management experience in the construction industry
- Proven history managing health and safety compliance across subcontractor-heavy environments
- High level of proficiency using HSE software systems (Procore & HammerTech) and Google Workspace
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail
- Previous success in implementing site safety programs and training
