We are seeking a skilled and committed Occupational Health & Safety (OSH) Officer to join our team and play a key role in ensuring a safe working environment across our projects.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced OSH Officer to oversee the safety standards on our residential construction sites. In this role, you will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and site personnel to promote a culture of safety, compliance, and risk management, ensuring that all activities meet health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations. Sites located from Northern New South Whales to the Sunshine Coast.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies to protect the health and safety of all workers.
  • Provide training and support to employees and subcontractors on safety procedures, equipment use, and emergency response.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Monitor and ensure that proper safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided and used correctly on site.
  • Advise project managers and site supervisors on risk assessments, site safety plans, and safety documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal OSH regulations and building codes.
  • Prepare and maintain records related to safety performance, incidents, and audits

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as an OSH Officer or in a similar health and safety role, preferably in the construction or residential building sector.
  • Strong knowledge of OSH regulations, safety procedures, and risk management principles.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with workers at all levels, including contractors and management.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to promoting a safe work environment.
