Football West is the governing body for the world game in Western Australia and with over 230,000 participants across the state, we’re dedicated to making football accessible, enjoyable, and a great experience for all. As we continue to strengthen our community programs and support the legacy of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, we’re looking for passionate people to join our team.

The Role

As a Community Participation Officer, you’ll be the key link between Football West and regional associations, clubs, schools, volunteers and local partners. Your mission is to grow participation, support community football environments, and help deliver programs that make football accessible and enjoyable for all.

This role is hands on, varied, and deeply connected to the heartbeat of football in regional WA. Additional core role responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Build strong relationships with clubs, associations, schools, local government and community partners.
  • Support the development of junior pathways from MiniRoos through to senior football.
  • Coordinate coaching, refereeing and player development courses and workshops.
  • Assist with talent development programs, regional academies and school initiatives.
  • Lead and support a mix of paid and volunteer coaches delivering programs across the region.
  • Manage regional events, participation data, and program administration.
  • Represent Football West at community and industry meetings.
  • Promote inclusion, diversity and positive football environments.
  • Support campaigns such as Child Safeguarding, Sideline Behaviour and Mental Health.
  • Manage regional budgets, equipment and Football West assets.
  • Travel within the region and occasionally intra state.

About You

You will natural “go-getter” committed to delivering true impact to the communities throughout the Midwest and Gascoyne region. In addition, you will possess the following.

  • Knowledge of football and the FA National Curriculum (Foundation of Football ideal).
  • Experience in community sport, program delivery or sports administration.
  • Understanding of club operations, volunteer management and community sport challenges.
  • Excellent organisation, initiative and the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive, collaborative and innovative mindset.
  • Solid admin and IT skills (MS Office, digital platforms).
