Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities. In this role, you will help clients achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. Ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to promoting independence and dignity for those in their care, ensuring a supportive and empowering environment for all clients.

Responsibilities:

– Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.

– Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with clients and their families.

– Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients, fostering independence and self-esteem.

– Monitor and document client progress and report any changes in behaviour or health to the appropriate professionals.

– Facilitate social and recreational activities to enhance clients’ quality of life.

– Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.

– Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Qualifications:

– Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification in Disability Support (preferred).

– Previous experience in a similar role or in the social care sector is preferred.

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and their families.

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

– Empathy and a genuine desire to help individuals with disabilities.

– Basic first aid and CPR certification is an advantage.

– Understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and relevant legislation.
