About the role
This is your opportunity to step into a newly created Payroll Officer position and make a real impact. As part of our People team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our payroll runs like clockwork – accurate, compliant, and always on time. Reporting to our Payroll Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of end-to-end payroll processing, while also being a trusted go-to for team member queries and support.
This isn’t just about processing numbers. You’ll collaborate closely with both People and Finance teams, helping to strengthen governance, improve systems and processes, and ensure data integrity across the board. Your work will directly contribute to a seamless employee experience – making sure every team member is paid correctly.

What You’ll Be Doing
In this hybrid role, working 3 days a week, at our Warragul or Ravenhall site you will provide key operational and administrative support to ensure payroll processes, reporting, and compliance activities are executed accurately and efficiently across the business. Key responsibilities include:

Payroll Operations: Deliver accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing, maintaining data integrity, validating timesheets and supporting reconciliations, reporting and payroll queries

Compliance & Governance: Ensure payroll activities comply with legislation, awards and Australian regulatory requirements, following controls and escalating risks where required

Systems & Process Support: Maintain accurate payroll and HRIS data, support system enhancements and testing, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes

Reporting & Insights: Provide accurate payroll reporting and workforce insights, monitoring trends to support business planning

Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across Finance, HR and operations, delivering clear communication and a high level of service while maintaining confidentiality

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing payroll process improvements, system enhancements and documentation to drive accuracy, efficiency and employee experience
What You’ll Bring

Here’s what will help you succeed:

Qualifications: Certificate or tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or Human Resources, with payroll-related training or system certification desirable

Experience: Demonstrated experience in payroll processing or administration, including use of payroll and time & attendance systems, with exposure to awards, enterprise agreements, superannuation, tax requirements, and payroll reconciliations and reporting

Technical Skills: Strong attention to detail and data accuracy, with intermediate Excel skills, ability to interpret payroll data and resolve discrepancies, and familiarity with payroll and HRIS systems
