About the Role
Five Bridges is seeking a First Nations Cultural Advisor to join the Redlands High Risk Team (HRT). This full-time role is based in Beenleigh, with regular travel across the Redlands and surrounding areas.
As a Cultural Advisor, you will provide critical cultural guidance and advocacy within a multi-agency response to domestic and family violence. You will support culturally safe decision-making, strengthen service responses, and ensure First Nations perspectives, protocols, and kinship considerations are embedded in case planning and practice.
This role supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim-survivors and people using violence across the Redlands catchment.
Your Responsibilities
- Attend and actively contribute to weekly High Risk Team meetings
- Provide cultural advice and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
- Support culturally appropriate case management and service responses
- Build strong networks with culturally safe DFV and community support services
- Work collaboratively with HRT case workers and partner agencies
- Contribute to continuous improvement of cultural capability and service delivery
About You
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (genuine occupational requirement)
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Knowledge of domestic and family violence dynamics and systems
- Relevant qualifications or significant experience in human services or DFV
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Current open C Class Driver’s Licence
- Police Check and Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
