About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development & Project Officer to join our team. This dual role is primarily focused on business development, with additional project coordination responsibilities to support the successful delivery of training and employment programs.
You will identify and convert new business opportunities, build strong employer and community partnerships, and contribute to the growth of funded programs; particularly Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW). Alongside this, you will play a key role in ensuring programs are delivered compliantly, efficiently and in line with funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development (Primary Focus)
- Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities aligned to training and employment outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, job providers and community organisations
- Drive growth through SQW and other Queensland-funded programs
- Leverage networks to expand employer pipelines and secure long-term partnerships
- Manage the full business development lifecycle, from prospecting to onboarding and CRM reporting
Project Officer (Secondary Focus)
- Support program planning, scheduling and cohort coordination
- Ensure compliance with funding guidelines, evidence requirements and reporting obligation
- Maintain accurate participant records, enrolment data and milestone documentation
- Prepare and contribute to progress reports, outcome tracking and funding documentation
- Monitor attendance and student engagement, proactively addressing early signs of disengagement
- Coordinate follow-up with participants, trainers and support services to maximise retention and outcomes
- Identify compliance risks or delivery challenges early and implement practical solutions
- Use Excel and CRM systems to track data, outcomes and reporting requirements
Manage competing deadlines across cohorts, reporting cycles and employer commitments
About You
- You are a motivated and relationship-driven professional who thrives on growth, accountability and impact.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in business development within an RTO, training or employment services environment
- Strong understanding of Queensland funding programs, particularly Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW)
- Sound knowledge of compliance, governance and funding agreement requirements
- High attention to detail with strong data accuracy and reporting capability
- Experience preparing documentation, milestone reports and maintaining audit-ready records
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working within spreadsheets
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across employers, trainers and community partners
- Supportive and empathetic communication skills when working with participants facing barriers
- Ability to proactively problem-solve, manage risks and take ownership of outcomes
- Strong time and priority management skills in a fast-paced, multi-program environment
- Experience using CRM systems (ZOHO highly regarded)
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required
- Ability to work 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday – Friday
