Description

About Us:

FIT Merchandising is a specialised sales and merchandising company, providing support within Bunnings and the Independent Hardware Industry across Australia and New Zealand.

Effective merchandising helps customers find what they need, discover new products, and feel confident in their purchases. From eye-catching displays and strategic shelf placement to maintaining consistent stock levels, great merchandising enhances the shopping experience and drives sales performance.

Our friendly, supportive team culture embodies our core values and principles, representing who we are in the marketplace – our beliefs, our thinking, and the way we operate. These values and principles shape our interactions with our customers, clients and each other.

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative Merchandising Team Leader to provide positive in-field support to our merchandisers across Victoria and Tasmania. In this role, you’ll ensure the team has the tools, training, and guidance they need to succeed, while fostering a supportive environment that empowers them to perform at their best.

You are passionate about delivering high-quality in-store execution that not only meets merchandising standards but also strengthens relationships with clients and partners, ensuring successful collaboration and project outcomes.

As a Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in supporting and empowering your merchandisers across multiple locations—providing hands-on guidance, building capability, and fostering a positive, inclusive team environment where everyone can thrive and deliver great results, while collaborating closely with both the business and your in-store merchandisers to meet operational needs and drive shared success. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-field leadership and hands-on support to merchandisers, guiding day-to-day activities including product ordering, restocking, and maintaining accurate pricing tickets and labels to ensure consistent execution across all locations
  • Collaborate closely with and support the In-Field Coordinator, contributing to projects, tasks, and operational priorities while reporting directly to them to help drive team success
  • Lead the implementation of client planograms, working closely with merchandisers in-store to ensure layouts are executed accurately and aligned with client specifications and project objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and team members, ensuring clear communication and successful project delivery
  • Conduct merchandising store coverage calls as required, providing on-the-ground support and ensuring high standards are consistently met across your territory
  • Lead the implementation of client planograms, collaborating closely with merchandisers to ensure layouts are executed accurately and in line with client specifications and project objectives
  • Coordinate and support the refitting of display bays, ensuring shelving and layouts are executed in line with client project requirements, specifications, and timelines
  • Supervise the setup and maintenance of promotional displays, ensuring strong visual appeal and adequate stock levels
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners and key stakeholders
  • Train and onboard new merchandisers, providing ongoing guidance and in-field support to help them build confidence and successfully perform in their roles
  • Support, coach, and develop your team to deliver consistent, high-quality merchandising standards

About You:

You’re a motivated leader with a passion for merchandising and in field projects, you know how to balance hands-on work with team coordination and enjoy building strong working relationships. You take pride in fostering strong relationships and providing ongoing support to our merchandisers in store, while also working collaboratively with our clients and partners to deliver outstanding results.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong time management skills with a proactive, hands-on, and self-motivated approach
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiating skills, with the ability to positively influence merchandisers, clients, and partners
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with clients and external partners, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that align with business objectives
  • Experience in project management, with the ability to coordinate with in-field merchandisers to relay, communicate, and distribute critical project information, tasks and timelines effectively
  • Previous merchandising experience, with leadership or team support experience highly regarded
  • Confidence using retail software and digital reporting tools to support in-field teams and client reporting
  • Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for travel between locations
  • Ability to support and mentor merchandisers, helping them build capability while driving operational excellence and client satisfaction

Employee Benefits:

  • Access to a fully maintained company vehicle as part of your role
  • Fuel, servicing, and running costs covered so you can focus on the job
  • Travel with ease and comfort while visiting multiple locations

We celebrate diversity and recognise that it is the unique contributions of our team members that give us our competitive edge. We embrace a ‘bring your whole self to work’ philosophy, believing that authenticity drives innovation and collaboration. Our inclusive culture fuels our success — because when our people grow, our company grows.
