Fire and Safety Australia is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced leaders for an upcoming opportunity.
We are looking for someone who brings disciplined leadership, strong operational awareness and a proven ability to influence safe and consistent performance.
About the role
This upcoming position will support operational teams, strengthen safety culture, improve performance, and drive continuous improvement across the site. Within this role you will focus on clarity, structure, and day to day coaching. Successful applicants will bring a steady and direct approach to managing people and processes.
- DIDO from Adelaide to Whyalla
- Roster 8/6 – travel in business hours
- $80 – $90 per hour
- Accommodation provided
- Meal allowance $75 per day
- 6-month contract, likely to extend further
Essential skills
- Demonstrated experience leading successful change in operational environments.
- Proven ability to shape and strengthen behavioural safety, with a focus on conversations, standards, and accountability.
- Strong leadership background in high reliability sectors such as aviation, marine, rail, or military.
- Ability to work in complex settings, make clear decisions, and guide teams through operational change.
- Demonstrated ability to work in team environments and provide a hands-on approach to leadership and change management.
- Strong communication skills and a focus on team development.
- Experience in project management and ability to adjust plans to keep outcomes on target
- Strong experience in engagement across multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Minimum Cert IV WHS
- Risk Management
- Project Management
