The role
We are seeking to employ a dedicated Solicitor for a full time 18-month contract. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to protecting consumer rights. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation assistance through various services, including the Credit and Debt Legal Advice line, National Debt Helpline and the Insurance Law service. Your expertise and dedication will directly impact seeking assistance with their financial challenges.

The successful applicant will:
- Be eligible to hold a NSW practising certificate
- The ability to take initiative and accept responsibility as part of a small multi-disciplinary professional team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have a passion for social justice, aptitude for advocacy and awareness of the social context of clients
- An ability to learn and apply the law and legal processes in relation to credit, banking, insurance, and debt collection, particularly as it affects disadvantaged consumers and/or is of public interest
- Consent to a National Criminal Record Check
