Assistant House Manager – North Shore (Roseville)
We are seeking a values-driven, compassionate, and empathetic Assistant House Manager to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Roseville.
This is a hands-on leadership role supporting both our housemates and a committed team of support workers, within a warm, person-centred home environment.
About the Role
As the Assistant House Manager, you will assist in leading a dedicated team providing high-quality support to three special young women with complex behaviours. Support is delivered both in the home and within the community, and is guided by each individual’s needs, preferences, and goals.
Activities may include shopping, café visits, attending appointments, and supporting visits with family, as well as daily living and personal care supports.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
Assist in leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of committed support workers
Participate in staff recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and ongoing leadership
Contribute to a positive, values-led culture within the home
Participate in an on-call roster, including after-hours, weekends, and overnight support
Direct Support & Operations
Participate in the weekly roster and provide direct support as required, including:
Ensure a person-centred and active support approach is embedded to promote independence
Support housemates to engage meaningfully in their community
House Management & Compliance
Assist with day-to-day operations of the house
Manage weekly staff rosters
Ensure compliance with legislation, organisational policies, and quality standards, including:
Prepare for and attend medical appointments as required
Oversee social planning, weekly menus, and meal planning
Family & Stakeholder Engagement
Develop and maintain strong relationships with housemates, families, and support networks
Support the implementation of our Family Governance approach, including:
Active involvement of people with disability and their families
Identification of individual health needs and preferences
Supporting staff training aligned to individual needs
Administration
Skills and Personal Attributes
Relevant qualifications and/or experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, Assistant House Manager, or similar role within a SIL or related environment
Demonstrated experience supporting people with complex behaviours, including the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Experience with rostering and scheduling, or a strong willingness to learn
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including liaison with families and key stakeholders
A genuine commitment to responsive, person-centred, and respectful care
Positive, energetic, and solution-focused approach
Passion for social enterprise and a strong commitment to improving outcomes for people with disability
Requirements
Flexibility to work morning, evening, weekend shifts, and participate in on-call rosters
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working With Children Check
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (HLTAID003 or equivalent)
Full COVID-19 vaccination, including booster
Solid computer skills
Access to a reliable vehicle
Full Driver’s Licence or P2
