Operating from our Tullamarine facility, we run a structured multi-shift production environment servicing customers across Victoria.
Feramex has been established as a dedicated and standalone business, formed from an existing and proven sheet metal manufacturing operation, to support its continued expansion and operational focus. This structured growth phase is built on a strong operational foundation and established market presence.
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join our leadership team and drive the next stage of operational performance.
This is a performance-driven, hands-on leadership role focused on structure, accountability and measurable results.
The Role
Reporting to the Business Operations Manager and working closely with senior leadership, the Production Manager will take full responsibility for manufacturing performance across a 24/5 multi-shift environment.
The role owns production output, labour performance, equipment reliability and cost control. It leads frontline leaders and production teams, enforces structured planning and reporting discipline and drives measurable improvement across key operational metrics.
Success in this role requires strong operational judgement, commercial awareness and the confidence to set and enforce standards across a multi-shift environment.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Safety & Compliance
- Leading a safety-first culture across all shifts
- Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and operational standards
Leadership & Workforce Capability
- Leading and developing frontline leaders and production teams
- Setting clear expectations and holding teams accountable to performance standards
- Strengthening structured shift handover and reporting discipline
- Building a structured, values-driven and performance-focused production culture
Operational Performance
- Enforcing disciplined production planning and workflow execution
- Improving throughput, labour productivity and cost performance
- Monitoring and analysing production KPIs and implementing corrective actions
- Identifying and removing operational bottlenecks
- Ensuring effective coordination between customer service, production and logistics
- Overseeing equipment reliability, preventative maintenance and operational uptime
- Maintaining high standards of quality, process control and operational discipline
Financial & Cost Control
- Managing labour planning, rostering and overtime discipline
- Monitoring production cost performance against budget targets
- Driving material utilisation efficiency and reducing waste
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Production Manager or senior manufacturing leadership role within a multi-shift environment
- Experience leading and developing teams of 30+ employees across multiple shifts
- Demonstrated ability to establish structure, drive accountability and lead disciplined operational performance
- Proven leadership capability with the confidence to set standards, make decisions under pressure and gain the respect of frontline teams
- Experience operating in high-volume, made-to-order or short lead-time manufacturing environments requiring decisive, real-time operational judgement
- Demonstrated ownership of production KPIs including throughput, labour productivity, equipment performance and cost control
- Strong background in production planning, workforce allocation and overtime discipline
- Strong background in sheet metal, fabrication, roll forming or related industrial manufacturing environments (highly regarded)
- Trade or engineering qualification (advantageous)
