IT Manager

About us

Since 1978, The Farquhar Group has built an ongoing reputation of being a high-quality, highly dependable, and well-respected kitchen manufacturer and installer, specialising in kitchens and whole-home integrations. This is offered directly to the public through its Farquhar and U-Install-It brands, as an OEM manufacturer to other high-profile brands, and a preferred partner to some of South Australia’s top builders, supplying directly to-the-trade.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a driven and hands-on IT professional to step into a senior role delivering both strategic leadership and advanced technical support across our business. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid experience looking to take the next step, or an emerging leader ready to expand their impact.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end IT operations – from Level 1 support through to complex infrastructure – while contributing to system improvements, cybersecurity, and long-term technology strategy. You’ll work closely with leadership, minimise reliance on external vendors, and play a key role in ensuring our systems are secure, reliable, and scalable.

If you’re technically strong, solutions-focused, and ready to grow into a leadership position, we’d love to hear from you.

Role Responsibilities

You will take ownership of end-to-end IT operations, combining hands-on technical support with strategic input to ensure systems are secure, reliable, and continuously improving. This role plays a key part in supporting business growth by delivering efficient, scalable technology solutions, including:

  • Provide Level 1-3 technical support across hardware, software, cloud, and networks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, identifying root causes and preventing recurrence
  • Maintain and optimise infrastructure, including servers, cloud environments, and network performance
  • Manage cybersecurity practices, user access, patching, and system compliance
  • Oversee IT assets, procurement, standardisation, and lifecycle management
  • Support and test backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
  • Contribute to IT strategy, system improvements, and cost-effective technology solutions
  • Manage vendors and monitor service delivery against agreed standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation and provide reporting to support decision-making

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Business Systems (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in a senior, hands-on technical role, ideally with systems administration
  • Strong knowledge of MacOS, Windows, Microsoft Server, and cloud environments
  • Expertise in networking, cybersecurity frameworks, and IT infrastructure management
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues independently
  • Experience with vendor management, procurement, and IT budgeting
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Current C Class driver’s licence

What we can offer you

A dynamic, hands-on role where you can make a real impact, take the next step in your IT career, and grow your leadership skills. Join a supportive team, work on diverse technical challenges, and help shape the future of our technology environment while being valued for your expertise and initiative.
