Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (BSP) to join our health and safety team on a part-time basis. This role is crucial in providing therapeutic support to individuals, helping them to improve their daily living and working skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and support tailored to their individual needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients’ functional abilities, environmental needs, and specific goals, including risk assessments.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions to assist clients in achieving their goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate clients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Educate clients and their families about the therapeutic process and strategies for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date client records and documentation in compliance with Australian privacy regulations and relevant health standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

Qualifications:

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably with a focus on health and safety or rehabilitation within the Australian context.
  • Qualified experience as a PBS practitioner providing specialist behaviour support to people with disabilities, their families, and key stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in using relevant occupational therapy assessment tools and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and best practice.
  • Proficiency in relevant occupational therapy software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Understanding of Australian health and safety legislation relevant to occupational therapy practice.
