The Opportunity
ERS is seeking a professional and highly attentive Control Room Operator to support and oversee client operations, working on a 24/7 rotating roster of 12-hour day and night shifts. You will play a key role in monitoring systems, coordinating responses to incidents, and maintaining clear communication with on-site teams and client stakeholders.
This role requires someone who is calm under pressure, technically capable, and disciplined in following procedures, with a strong focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and operational awareness. With an ongoing opportunity for the right candidate, offering stability within a professional security operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing Access Control.
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, and security systems to maintain situational awareness.
- Assess alarms and incidents and coordinate appropriate responses in real time.
- Maintain clear communication with security teams, site personnel, and emergency services.
- Manage inbound calls and operational enquiries in a calm and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and database updates in real time.
- Produce clear and detailed incident and monitoring reports.
- Coordinate operational activities across the site.
- Ensure strict adherence to operational procedures, safety protocols, and client requirements.
- Maintain a professional and organised control room environment.
About you
Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with technology in a structured operational environment. You can process information quickly, make sound decisions, and communicate clearly under pressure. You will also bring:
- Certificate II in Security Operations (minimum) with current valid WA Security Licence.
- Previous experience in a control room, monitoring centre, or operations coordination role (essential).
- Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow procedures and work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be fluent in written and spoken English
- Confidence in using computer systems and MS Office (Word & Excel) for reporting.
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during incidents.
- Availability to work 12-hour shifts across a 24/7 roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
- Full working rights in Australia with no restrictions on hours.
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
