The Opportunity

We are seeking highly qualified and experienced Emergency Services Officers (ESO/MESO) to provide emergency response and medical services for one of the world’s largest gold miners.

These roles are FIFO from Perth, typically on an 8/6 roster with a mix of days and nights with ongoing opportunities for the right candidate.

You’ll be a vital presence on the ground – responding to incidents, providing medical care and emergency response and rescue, running drills, and keeping people safe.

You will be responsible for delivering professional medical and emergency preparation and response to any emergency in the work environment, ensuring the safety and security of all personnel and property in the event of an emergency as well as developing and implementing emergency response plans, coordinating emergency response efforts, and providing training to employees on emergency procedures.

About You

  • At least 3+ years of experience in underground mining, emergency response or related field (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of emergency response protocols and procedures (underground rescue).
  • Strong medical knowledge in emergency response.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other emergency services agencies and stakeholders
  • Proactive & Solution focused.
  • Physically fit and ready for the demands of the job.

Essential Qualifications

  • UGSR_BG4 Underground Search & Rescue Closed Circuit BA
  • HLT41120 – Certificate IV in Health Care
  • RII30719 – Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue OR PUA30622 – Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations) must include: Undertake confined space rescue (PUASAR025), Undertake vertical rescue (PUASAR032) and Road crash rescue (PUASAR024)
  • HLTPAT005 – Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
  • Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver’s Licence to operate site fire appliances
  • PUAVEH001 – Drive Vehicle Under Operational Conditions
  • RIIVEH305F Operate & Maintain a 4×4 Vehicle
  • HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid – needs to be current within 3 years
  • HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – needs to be current within 12 months
