Description

  • 1 x Permanent, full-time position and 1 x 12 month fixed-term (0.6 FTE) position.

About the role

  • Ensuring the activities of the School are operated effectively and providing a quality service to the students and staff.
  • Lecturing in agreed subject areas and managing teaching and assessment of units being delivered.
  • Producing research and/or scholarship that informs learning and teaching, and curriculum innovation and development.
  • Providing administrative support to the Head of School and other academic staff.
  • Provision of field education liaison duties to students undertaking their practicum placement and experience.
  • Contribute to course and unit coordination duties and program development and curriculum design.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Professional Standing:

  • Hold a PhD qualification in relevant discipline (essential).
  • Hold a qualifying Social Work degree with eligibility for membership with AASW (essential).
  • A background in Higher Education spanning experience teaching at a tertiary level and including curriculum development and modification and/or a background in fieldwork, spanning frontline experience in a complex service environment, e.g. hospital settings or the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).

Essential:

  • Ability to teach and model practical, real-world skills to students and early-career professionals
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with staff and students.
  • An understanding of current and emerging trends in Social Work Education and training.
  • Technological literacy and experience in online education and communication platforms.
  • Demonstrated awareness of, and sensitivity to, diversity with the ability to work with students, staff, and administrators, including pastoral skills in mentoring staff and supporting students.
  • Committed Christian, involved in a local congregation.
  • Full Australian working rights.
