About the Role

Primary responsibilities are to:

  • Assist staff as the first point of contact for general HR enquiries.
  • Support the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the organisation.
  • Facilitate employee training and development programmes to enhance skills and career progression.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits and payroll processes.
  • Generate HR correspondence including contracts of employment, variation letters, and statements of service.
  • Event coordination for activities such as staff social events, wellbeing initiatives, and HR awareness and education campaigns.
  • Support WHS compliance and administration and contributing to fostering a safe workplace.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of the HR function, proposing ideas for improvement and implementation.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Professional Standing:

  • Possession of a relevant degree level HR qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience/training.

Essential:

  • Committed Christian involved in a local congregation. Experience (2+ years) working in an Administrator or Coordinator role or equivalent.
  • Experience in a Human Resources related role (highly desirable).   Experience in a Higher Education setting (or equivalent) would be an advantage.
  • Experience working with Employment Hero HR software would be an advantage.
  • Customer service focused individual with strong people skills and leadership qualities.
  • High level of professionalism and maintenance of privacy and confidentiality, at all times.
  • Technological literacy in a wide range of desktop applications to support reporting and analysis role requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and confidence in collaborating with stakeholders from all levels of the business.  Proven organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
