About the Role
Primary responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the activities of the School are operated effectively and efficiently, providing a quality service to the students and staff.
- Lecturing and unit coordination in agreed subject areas including managing teaching and assessment of units being delivered.
- Producing research and scholarship that informs learning and teaching, and curriculum innovation and development.
- Providing administrative support to the Head of School, Course Coordinators, and other academic staff.
- Building the profile and reputation of Excelsia with stakeholders, the community and potential students.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications and Professional Standing:
- Hold a PhD qualification in relevant Education discipline.
- Lecturing and teaching experience (3+ years experience would be an advantage).
Essential:
- Committed Christian, involved in a local congregation.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching at a tertiary level, learning, scholarship and research, including curriculum development and modification.
- Previous experience teaching in primary and/or secondary school (would be an advantage).
- An understanding of current and emerging trends in Education and training.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students; ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues.
- Technological literacy and experience in developing online communication tools and previous experience in online education is desirable.
- Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diversity and ability to work with students, staff, and administrators, including pastoral skills in mentoring staff and supporting students.
