About the role
As a Retail Assistant, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional experience to everyone who walks through our doors — members, fans, and the wider community. You’ll be the face of our
retail operations, helping bring the Essendon brand to life across all touchpoints and ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to quality service.
In this hands-on role, you’ll support the Retail Lead and broader Consumer team with day-to-day store operations, including customer service, sales transactions, stock management, merchandising and promotional execution. You’ll help drive revenue by meeting sales targets, optimising the presentation of our retail space, and creating a welcoming environment that elevates the customer experience.
Whether assisting with a high-energy event-day rush or responding to enquiries across multiple channels, you’ll play an important part in fulfilling our brand promise and ensuring our fans leave feeling valued and connected to the Club.
About you
You’re a customer-first professional who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment. With experience in retail, you’re confident managing sales targets, navigating busy periods, and
delivering service that genuinely makes a difference.
You have strong communication skills, a knack for building rapport, and the ability to handle escalated issues with care and sensitivity. You’re organised, proactive, and comfortable working
autonomously while contributing to a team striving for excellence.
Your attention to detail ensures stock is well-presented, replenished and safely stored, and your experience with POS systems and email communication helps you work efficiently across all retail
channels. Weekend work suits your lifestyle, and experience within a member-based or sporting organisation is a bonus.
Above all, you bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a passion for contributing to a Club that stands for unity, excellence and a connected fan experience.
