Pellet Mill Assistant

The Pellet Mill Assistant is responsible for assisting the Pellet Mill Operator with the production of stock feed in the Pellet Mill. This position operates in the Pellet Mill and works on a 24/7 shift roster.

The Key Responsibilities of the Pellet Mill Assistant include:

• Achieve daily production ensuring the accurate performance and operation of the Pellet Mill

• Comply with all operator safety requirements

• Maintain production records and daily manufacturing reports

• Ensure product stock levels are maintained with communication to relevant staff to enable production to continue

• Monitor, control and adjust equipment to ensure the optimum mixture and flow rate of grains and to ensure the formulae and moisture content is compliant with standards

• Ensure housekeeping standards and batches are made correctly to comply with the formulation of the pellets

• Conduct any preventative maintenance and record as relevant to role and qualifications

• Ensure CCP (Critical Control Point) and QCP (Quality Control Point) monitoring in the Pellet Mill is completed as per the HACCP Plan

• Ensure compliance with Feedsafe Standards within the Pellet Mill

• Adhere to occupational health and safety (OH&S) in the Pellet Mill

• Oversee and control production records including production reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis

• Report any food safety and quality issues to the Pellet Mill Operator and QA Team

• Ensure clinker in Husk Boiler is removed every 4 hours

• Other ad hoc responsibilities as directed by the Pellet Mill Operator, the Production Manager and General Manager Operations, Western Australia

Essential

• Previous work experience in manufacturing, labouring, warehousing or similar environments.

• Needs to be pro-active and show initiative

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task and work under pressure.

• Physically fit to cope with the physical tasks within the Mill. Able to work in dusty environments.

• Current rights to work in Australia

• A current driver’s licence

Desirable

• A forklift licence (training can be provided if required)
