HV Electrician – Project Positions

Espec Australia is currently seeking experienced High Voltage Electricians to join our Darwin-based team for current project works across a range of clients including Defence, PWC, and other commercial and infrastructure projects.

These roles suit individuals with a strong work ethic who lead by example and consistently deliver high standards of workmanship and safety.

About the Role

You will be involved in HV installation, maintenance, and construction works across:

• Underground HV networks

• Overhead HV systems

• Substation installation and maintenance

This is a hands-on project role requiring accountability, productivity, and adherence to strict safety, quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, termination, testing and commissioning of HV cables

• Underground and overhead HV construction and maintenance

• Substation works including upgrades and maintenance

• Fault finding and diagnostics

• Reading and interpreting drawings and technical documentation

• Maintaining high safety and quality standards on site

• Providing leadership and direction when required

Essential Requirements

• A Grade Electrical Licence (NT or ability to obtain)

• Demonstrated High Voltage experience

• Proven experience in underground and overhead HV systems

• Substation experience

• Strong leadership capability and ability to work autonomously

• Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic

• Current White Card

• Current Driver’s Licence

Highly Regarded

• HV Switching qualification

• Cable jointing experience

• Cabler’s Licence (advantageous)

• Working at Heights & EWP

• First Aid / CPR

• Experience working on Defence or utility projects
