About Us: The Southern Vet Group consists of three modern, well-equipped clinics, including two ASAV-accredited hospitals, located in the beautiful southern suburbs of Adelaide. Our clinics support a high caseload of medical, surgical, emergency and rehabilitation cases, as well as the Adelaide Koala and Wildlife Centre. With a large, experienced team—many of whom have been with us for 5-10+ years—we pride ourselves on teamwork, learning, and delivering top-tier veterinary care.
What we can offer you:

Base salary $80-130k (commensurate with experience and skill set) + Super

Paid for every minute you work. Included 1.5-2 hours per shift for case management, phone calls, and write-ups, plus a paid 40-minute meal break

Overtime & Professional Fees: Paid in the event of emergency surgery after closing because your time and expertise are valued!

Amazing work life balance. We know that you work to live, not live to work and that’s how it should be. We run a 9-day work fortnight. An example of what a week’s roster may look like:

1x surgery shift (10 hours)

1x consult shift (8 hours)

2x afternoon shifts (7.5 hours) that don’t start until 2:30pm giving you extra personal time in the mornings 1

1x weekend day shift (10 hours) a fortnight
- A standard fortnight is 76 hours.
Strong Support Network:
- You’ll be paired with a mentor to help you when you start
- Skilled nursing team to support your day-to-day workflow
- Wellbeing focused – on-site mental health first-aider, employee assistance program and external performance coaching available if you need it

What you need:
- DVM or equivalent veterinary qualification
- Eligibility for Veterinary Surgeons Board of SA registration
- Commitment to providing gold-standard animal care
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building strong client relationships
- Passion for growing your medical, surgical, and diagnostic imaging expertise
