As an Underwriting Assistant you’ll provide administrative support and gain experience in all aspects of underwriting (including Property, Liability & Construction) – helping us to deliver on business strategy, risk assessment and exceptional experiences for our clients.

What will the role look like?
- Provide timely and professional support to our Underwriters, Management, Brokers and Industry contacts.
- Maintain our Quote Register, Policy Schedule and process closings.
- Assist with overflow activities relating to end-of-month Certificate of Currency and Claims Experience certificates.
- Provide general office support as required including file management, expense claims etc.
- Adhere to company, industry and government policies, procedures, guidelines and laws.
- Preparation of pre-renewal notices and distribution to brokers.
- Debtor follow-ups and income checks.
What will you bring to the role?
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess risks and insurance applications
- Proficiency in documentation, administrative tasks, and data management
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to maintain broker and client relationships
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to handle policy renewals and maintain compliance
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems for underwriting and operational tasks
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently in a professional environment
- Previous experience in insurance or underwriting preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field is advantageous
