An exciting opportunity has arisen (full-time permanent role) for an experienced Origination Manager to lead the origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of wholesale market transactions, including PPAs, tolling, hedging, and environmental products. This role ensures alignment with portfolio optimisation strategies and the Trading Policy, while delivering strong commercial outcomes for Energy Bay Markets.
This is a compelling opportunity with end to end accountability for the Generation to Market P&L and overall financial performance across Energy Bay Group.

As the Origination Manager, you will contribute to:

Generation to Market Strategy: Leads the Generation to Market strategy for third party owned assets, driving planning, budgeting, performance tracking, and accountability for gross margin outcomes within the Generation to Market P&L

Structured Origination & Execution: Leading the origination, negotiation, and execution of structured wholesale transactions while ensuring full compliance with authorised instruments, Delegations of Authority, and Trading Policies and Mandate.

Commercial & Portfolio Alignment: Delivers value by aligning structured transactions to portfolio optimisation objectives, supporting structural hedging requirements, and contributing to execution of gross margin performance within the Wholesale P&L.

Deal Capture, Administration & Compliance: Ensures accurate deal capture and forward curve entry, supports timely P&L reconciliation, and maintains strict adherence to trading compliance, prudential limits, and reporting requirements.

Market Assessment & Interaction: Provides market led insight on pricing trends, policy impacts, and developments to inform long term PPA, tolling, and load strategy, while leading commercial discussions and strengthening counterparty relationships.

Dispatch Optimisation: Lead and mentor the continued improvement of the Company’s proprietary algorithm(s) for BESS optimization across various market segments.
You will be successful in the role if you possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, or Commerce-related discipline.
- Strong experience within the electricity or energy industry, with deep exposure to wholesale market environments.
- Proven success across market operations, trading, and commercial optimisation of generation assets
- Hands on experience managing AEMO registration, compliance, and operational in-teractions
- Demonstrated capability negotiating and managing PPAs, tolling, and offtake agree-ments
- Practical asset management experience across renewable and thermal generation (solar, BESS, biogas, etc.)
- A collaborative leader with a track record of leading and influencing cross functional team
- Strong, nuanced understanding of energy industry dynamics and market structures
- Hands on engagement with regulatory bodies (AER, AEMO, CER) on rule changes, compliance, and regulatory matters (highly desired)
- Experience managing both merchant and contracted generation asset portfolios
- Strong exposure to Renewable Energy Certificate markets, including LGC creation and EGR compliance
- Dependable and professional, demonstrating consistency, reliability, and regulatory compliance
- Influential communicator, able to engage stakeholders at all levels with clarity and credibility
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to pivot with changes in the electricity market.
